These are actually pictures of Ft. Davis, a little town at the base of the Davis Mountains where I ended up setting most of the book. It's a little retirement village as well as filled with tourists. The views are lovely. For being in far west Texas at the end of summer, it was often cool. We really enjoyed this little town.
